Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026

SynclyOne ("we," "our," or "us") is a family hub that brings schedules, messages, and updates from schools, sports teams, and organizations into one feed. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SynclyOne iOS app, Android app, and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (including third-party sign-in tokens from Google, Apple, or Facebook if you choose them).

Family and child profiles: You may add profiles for your children, including their name, grade, school, and optional birth date and photo. This information is used to organize schedules and events. Child profiles are created only by a parent or guardian; we do not collect this information directly from children under 13.

Calendar and group data: When you connect integrations such as Google Calendar, Google Classroom, GroupMe, or Facebook Pages, we retrieve event, assignment, and message data from those services to display in your feed.

Messages and comments: Messages and comments you post within groups or tournaments are stored and displayed to other members of those groups.

Location data: If you opt in to family location sharing, we collect precise device location and share it only with members of your family group. Location is off by default. We never sell location data. You can stop sharing at any time.

Photos: If you add a profile photo, that image is stored with the profile you choose. Camera or photo-library access is used only when you pick an image.

Biometric lock: Face ID, Touch ID, or device fingerprint can lock the app on your device. Biometric templates never leave your device and are not sent to our servers.

Push notifications: If you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can send schedule, message, and tournament alerts. You can disable notifications in device settings.

Purchase information: On the web we process payments through Stripe. In the iOS and Android apps, Apple or Google process the subscription; we receive an entitlement (premium / not premium), not your full card number.

Usage data: We collect anonymized analytics about how you use the app to improve features and performance. We do not sell personal information for cross-app tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your family account and profiles
  • To sync and display events, assignments, and messages from connected services
  • To send you notifications about schedule changes, score updates, and announcements
  • To enable group messaging, tournament following, and community features
  • To provide AI-powered schedule assistance and message scanning features
  • To improve our Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics

3. Public vs. Private Data

Private to your family: Child profiles, family tasks, RSVPs, attendance, private events, and family chat messages are visible only to you and the people you invite. We use row-level security to enforce this.

Community (public): Tournaments, brackets, rankings, and standings are shared across the SynclyOne community so all families can follow along. About and Contact pages are publicly accessible.

4. Third-Party Services

SynclyOne integrates with the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles your data:

  • Google Calendar, Google Classroom, Gmail — for event and assignment syncing
  • GroupMe — for group message syncing
  • Facebook Pages — for page post syncing
  • Meta Ads — for advertising analytics (if enabled)
  • Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, and Facebook Login — for authentication
  • Apple In-App Purchase and Google Play Billing — for Premium in the mobile apps
  • Stripe — for Premium checkout on the website only
  • OpenStreetMap — map tiles when you use family location

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share data with third-party services when you explicitly connect an integration, and only to the extent necessary to provide the feature.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings → Privacy → Delete account, we remove or anonymize account-owned records where technically possible. Shared records may remain available to other authorized members, and uploaded files or provider-held records may remain until the provider's documented retention process completes. This action is irreversible for your account.

6. Data Security

We protect your data using row-level security, encrypted authentication, and secure server-side storage. You can enable biometric lock (Face ID / Touch ID) on supported devices for an additional layer of protection. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

SynclyOne is designed for parents and caregivers. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian. If you believe we have collected information from a child in error, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can exercise these rights within the app (Settings → Privacy) or by contacting us. Depending on your location (e.g., California, EU), you may have additional rights under CCPA or GDPR.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date above.
